Tsuba - Heianjo Sukashi

Description:

The Tsuba is made in "Sukashi" technique, potentially made with a chisel technique without the usage of filing - which were not available as tool by that century. The motive representing a Sukashi-Style Flower called "Jidaimon" or "Yaegiku" (Double-flowering chrysanthemum). The patination and color of steel is typical for these early authentic historic pieces.
