about this sword

This is a Japanese sword wakizashi in shikomi mountings. The blade is unsigned o-suriage, shinogi-zukuri shape with one side bohi engravings, muromachi period ca. 1450 era made
blade. The blade is in old full polish, no rust no stain and in mint condition. The temper line is wavy notare with konie active temper pattern and has deep temper at the point. The forging
grain is tight itame-hada, no openings, no blister and no forging flaws. There is no bend, no nick, no crack and cutting edge is sharp. It is mounted in urushi lacquered wood shikomi mountings
with aikuchi, no dent, no crack and in good condition. It measures 21+5/8" cutting edge, 21 mm width, 4 mm thickness at the notch and 31+1/4" in mountings.

This sword is a very thin and attractive sword. It is super leightweight and has a bohi on one side on the full length. The curvature and overall apperance gives a Kantei point for a blade which has some serious age of probably about 600-700 years. Since it has no papers yet it definately requires and is worth further research. Another highlight is the very nice Koshirae.
